Job Details

Our fast-moving, fast-growing technology client is looking for a Senior API and Technical Writer for their London office. With thousands of customers around the world, their product primarily targets web and mobile developers. We’re looking for someone who loves to write, enjoys tinkering with code, and has lots of ideas to help take their developer documentation and other technical content to the next level.

You'll be writing a range of developer documentation (REST API and SDK references, engaging technical blog posts, tutorials (incl. videos), demos, developer cookbooks, quick start guides, and interactive learning materials); writing and testing code samples in various programming languages; contributing to the continuous improvement of the developer portal web design; contributing your ideas on how to do things better; actively participating in agile feature teams; coordinating with R&D, devrel, support, training etc. to ensure an excellent developer experience; reviewing & editing technical content created by marketing etc.

What's needed?

  • Good experience as a technical writer/developer advocate/trainer/support engineer/bootcamp educator or similar technical position in a software organisation.
  • Hands-on coding experience and are geeky enough to enjoy it.
  • The ability and enthusiasm to present technical content in creative and interesting ways for technical audiences.
  • Enthusiasm for supporting developers and understanding what they need.
  • The ability to collaborate with developers, product managers, customer support, and marketing to obtain the information you need and coordinate on content messaging.
  • A confident self-starter who naturally takes ownership, looks for opportunities, and drives results.
  • Any of the following are useful but by no means essential: A degree in computer science, IT, or other technical field; experience creating video tutorials, screencasts or other eLearning materials; experience in SEO-aware content design and creation; knowledge of Agile methodologies.
