Edissero Limited processes your data when it is in our legitimate interests to do so and when these interests are not overridden by your data protection rights. Our legitimate interests include providing career advice and guidance, contacting you about relevant opportunities, introducing you to potential employers or end clients and staying in touch throughout your career in technical communications.

What sort of data do we collect and retain?

Edissero Limited collects and retains personal data about you in the course of the recruitment process. Where you have applied for an advertised position, posted your CV and details on an accessible job board, CV repository or social network, or in response to a direct enquiry from you, we will retain information including your name, telephone numbers, email address, home address, personal website address, social media profiles, other contact details, information about your work history and experience, your curriculum vitae, your work samples and any other information you provide us. Other information that you freely give but which constitutes sensitive data (see definition below) will not be retained without your specific and freely given consent.

How is Personal Data used?

Information given freely by you when applying for a position, posting your details on a job board, CV repository or social network, or registering an interest with Edissero Limited is only used for the recruitment process. We will not divulge any information to a prospective employer without first obtaining your consent to submit your details to that prospective employer. Where you have given your consent for us to submit your details to a prospective employer we may share your data with them, but no more than is, in our reasonable opinion, appropriate for their evaluation of your suitability for their role. Prospective employers may have their own data protection policies.

How long is Personal Data retained?

As a specialist recruiter we typically form long term relationships with both clients and applicants, and help them to find suitable roles on multiple occasions throughout their technical communications careers. With that in mind we will retain your data on our secure database for as long as you are working in our specialist field, or until you retire, or tell us to delete your data. From time to time we may contact you to confirm your wish for us to either continue representing you or to confirm deletion of your data from our database. If we are unsuccessful in contacting you for over ten years then we will delete your personal data from our database.

Where do you keep my data?

We retain your data on our secure database hosted in a secure data centre.

Security

We are committed to ensuring that your data is kept secure. In order to prevent unauthorised disclosure we have in place suitable electronic and physical access control mechanisms.

Deletion of Data on request

You may contact us at any time to request us to delete your personal data. We will action any request within seven days and confirm deletion by request.

How do I know what Information you have retained about me?

You may request us to share with you the data we retain about you. This request should be made in writing and should include the approximate date you registered with us and must be signed by you. In order to protect your data we will take steps to confirm your identity before sharing any data with you. We will respond by email within 30 days of receiving your written request. If following your request, you find any inaccuracies in the data, we will make appropriate changes to your data, or delete all or part of the data if you so wish.

How do we send you information?

Following your request for information we will email you and attach a document in PDF format which may include text, tables, and screen grabs.

Transfer of Data

You may explicitly request us to transfer your data to a third party. Any such request must be made in writing, and we will take steps to confirm your identity before complying with a request. Data will be provided in CSV format.

Terminology

Personal Data – data which relates to a living individual who can be identified from that data, and data relating to that individual which is in the possession of Edissero Limited.

Sensitive Data – personal data consisting of information as to the racial or ethnic origin of the data subject, political opinions, religious beliefs or other beliefs of a similar nature, membership of a trade union, physical or mental health or condition, sexual life, the commission or alleged commission of any offence or any proceedings related to any offence.
